Challan under Prevention of Corruption Act filed in Kashmir court

Srinagar, Apr 4 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir State Vigilance Organisation (SVO) has produced challans against four government officials under Prevention of Corruption Act (PCA), an SVO official said.

The official said the challans were presented in the court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption, Srinagar against the accused after obtaining sanction from the government.

Giving details, he said, an FIR under was registered against Ghulam Mohi-din Malik then Senior Assistant Director of land record Srinagar after he was caught red handed while receiving tainted money in connection with providing of revenue records to the complainant.

Another FIR was lodged against Ghulam Nabi Gashi then Accountant, treasury Charar-Sharief Budgam after he too was caught red handed while accepting money for release of arrear bill in favour of the complainant.

The official said an FIR against Mushtaq Ahmad Ganie then Junior Engineer and Mohammad Akbar Shah then Works Supervisor Block Qazigund was lodged after they were caught while accepting graft money for preparation of bill relating to execution of works by the contractor.

The cases were registered in 2005 and the challan has been produced in a record time of six months after accord of sanction by the Government.
