CBI files charges in special Court against Monica Bedi

Hyderabad, Apr 4: The Central Bureau of Investigation today filed charges in the Special Court for CBI here against former Bollywood actor Monica Bedi, alleging criminal conspiracy in the fake passport case.

The CBI team also framed charges against five others belonging to Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh for their role in Monica acquiring the passport by providing false information.

Monica was charged under Sections 120 and 420 of the IPC, while other five, all government employees, were booked for violating the Passport Act.

The actor was arrested on November 12, 2005 here on charges of securing a fake passport in 2001 with a fictitious address in Kurnool and is in judicial remand.

Special Judge for CBI C V Subramanyam extended the judicial remand of Monica till April 18, and from the same day, trial of the case would begin.
