Case of missing Sena activist handed over to CBI: State informs HC
Mumbai, Apr 4 (UNI) The Maharashtra government today informed the Bombay High Court that they have handed over the investigation of missing Shiv-Sena activist Ramesh Goakar from the local police to the CBI.
Assistant government pleader D S Mahesh Purkar today informed a division bench comprising Justice D G Deshpande and Justice V K Tahilramani in response to a habeas corpus petition filed by Sena office-bearer Anil Parab, allegeing that Mr Goakar was missing since the last assembly by-election in Malvani in Konkan.
The petitioner has also alleged that police is not making any effort to trace Mr Goakar as they were under a political pressure from a Cabinet Minister of Maharashtra government.
Following the statement by Mr Purkar, the bench took note of it and disposed off the petition.
