BEL records provisional turnover of Rs 3,561 crore
Pune, Apr 4 (UNI) Premier defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has recorded its highest ever turnover of Rs 3,561 crore (provisional) for the year 2005-06, which is an increase of 11 per cent over last year's turnover of Rs 3,212 crore.
The estimated profit before tax is Rs 848 crore, as against last year's figure of Rs 686 crore. BEL achieved exports of USD 13.58 million against last year's figure of USD 12.50 million, a BEL press release here today said.
The turnover per employee for 2005-06 is Rs 29 lakh, an increase of over 11 per cent compared to last year's figure of Rs 26 lakhs, the release stated.
The order book stands at around Rs 6,500 crore as on April 1, 2006 as against Rs 6,100 crores last year.
This year, more than 15 new products have rolled out. The turnover accruing from indigenously developed products stands at 73 per cent this year as against 63 per cent last year.
Some of the important orders executed during the year include a number of Battle Field Surveillance Radars (Short Range), an indigenously-designed, portable, state-of-art ground-based Radar developed by LRDE, Flycatcher Radar, an all-weather anti-aircraft weapon control system, and Reporter Radar, the release said.
