Art camp and workshop at Cellular jail

Port Blair, Apr 4 (UNI) As part of the centenary celebrations of Cellular jail here, an art camp and workshop on freedom movement has started at National Memorial Cellular Jail.

The week-long camp inaugurated yesterday by Uddipta Ray,Secretary, sports, art and culture, would highlight the heroic deeds scripted by the freedom fighters during imprisonment.

The programme is organised in association with the Kalpnirjhar Foundation of Kolkata.

Altogether 25 artists of national and international repute like Jatin Das, Prakash Karmakar, Johar Dasgupta, including art critics would be participating in the event.

The artworks of the artists would depict the untold afflictions, physical torment of the people who fought many battles and exhibited unparalleled courage.
