'AGP-Left combine to form govt'
Guwahati, Apr 4: Veteran CPI leader A B Bardhan today claimed that the AGP-Left combine and not the ruling Congress would form the next government in Asom.
Speaking to newspersons here Mr Bardhan said, ''As per my observation Congress rule is over in Asom and the only alternative is an AGP-Left combine. The Left was zero in the last assembly polls but it will make a good presence this time,'' he predicted.
The new political development in the state will help in a positive decision making and in turn in the overall development of the people, he said.
He congratulated the people for participating in large numbers in yesterday's polls. He also congratulated the Election Commissioner for conducting the first phase of polls in the state smoothly.
He said the Left Front will come out successful in the coming polls in Kerala, West Bengal as well as in Tamil Nadu.
Expressing serious concern over the trend of rising prices just prior to the polls in Asom, he alleged that as big business houses and industrialists had to fund the Congress's and BJP's election cost it had caused inflation.
