AGP demands repoll in Jalukbari
Guwahati, Apr 04 (UNI) The Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) today demanded repolling in Jalukbari constituency of Kamrup district, alleging rigging by the ruling Congress.
This was, however, denied by both Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and Minister of State for Finance Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Congress candidate from Jalukbari.
AGP spokesman Apurba Kumar Bhattacharya, addressing a press conference here, alleged that Mr Sarma had used police to rig the polling.
The rigging was recorded by news channels.
After voting, the EVMs were taken inside Gouripur police out post and some manipulation was done, he said.
The AGP has complained to the Election Commission in this regard, seeking repolling in the entire constituency.
