2 children killed in accident, mother critical

New Delhi, Apr 04 (UNI) Two children, aged 12 and 14, were killed and their mother injured when a speeding dumper hit an auto in the Shakarpur area of East Delhi today.

The driver of the dumper Nand Kishore (35) has been arrested.

Lakshmi (12) and Yogender (14) were declared brought dead after they were rushed to the Lal Bahadur Hospital soon after the accident, which took place at 0430 hrs at Shakarpur Chungi, according to sources.

The children were travelling with their mother Roshni (40) from Kalkaji Mandir to Gufawala Mandir in Preet Vihar.

The auto, in which the three were travelling, was hit by a speeding bumper coming from the Noida Morh side.

The mother of the children, who hailed from Ghaziabad, is in a critical condition at J P Narain Hospital.
