12 shuttlers to undergo 15-day Coaching Camp for Thomas Cup

Bangalore, Apr 4 (UNI) Commonwealth Games bronze medallist Chetan Anand and national champion Anup Sridhar are among the dozen probables selected to undergo coaching camp for Thomas Cup to be held in Japan from April 25.

Badminton Association of India sources told UNI that the Indian team for the event would be selected from among the probables and the team would depart directly to Japan from were on April 24.

Chetan was the fourth Indian shuttler to win a medal in the Commonwealth Games after former All England Champion Prakash Padukone, Syed Modi and P Gopi Chand. Besides, India won bronze in the Team event.

The probables: Anup Sridhar, Chetan Anand, Rupesh Kumar, Jaseel F Ismail, Marcose Sristow, Anand Pawar, Arvind Bhatt, Nikhil Kanetkar, Sanave Thomas, V Diju, Thomas Kurian and P Kashyap.

Hadi Sugianto and Vimal Kumar will be the coaches.
