Kohima, Apr 3 (UNI) Dimapur police arrested three persons along with three hundred rounds of live bullets of AK-47 rifle at Chumukedima check post last night.

Official sources said the three accused, including one self-styled Corporal of Kuki National Front (KNF) and a couple, were caught smuggling ammunition from Churachandpur district of Manipur.

The three persons were reportedly sent to Manipur by one Thongkholen, who is believed to be the leader of military council of KNF in Haflong in north Cachar hill district of Asom, to collect the ammunition.

They reportedly collected the consignment from the chief-in-command of KNF Hemlal Haokip and were smuggling it to Haflong when they were nabbed.

Sources said police also recovered some documents of agreement for suspension of operation between security forces and KNF signed on August 10, 2005.
