Three CRPF Jawans killed in a firing at J K CM's residence in Jammu

Jammu Apr 3(UNI) Three Central Reserve Police Force Jawans including an officer were killed , in a firing incident which took place at the residence of Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad here today.

Inspecor General CRPF Jammu Range P M Nair told UNI the incident happened at the Guard Post, outside the periphery of the CM's residence at Wazarat Road, when a constable Anand Singh had a tiff with an inspector. The infuriated contable opened fire from his service revolver, killing the officer on the spot. The other two head constables who came to the rescue the officer, were also shot dead by the accused.

The deceased have been identified as inspector Mohan Sharma, head constable K.Paney and Yogendra Jha.

Mr Nair said the accused was immediately overpowered by the other CRPF jawans and arrested. He is being interrogated.

Meanwhile a case of murder u/s 302 ipc has been registered at Pakka Danga police station against the accused.

Senior police officials including state Director General of Police Gopal Sharma rushed to the spot. The whole area was cordoned off even for the media.

Mr. Sharma later told UNI that after the incident all the security arrangements in and around the CM's residence are being reviewed.
