SMC collects Rs 404.09 crore as octroi.

Surat, Apr 3 (UNI) Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) has collected Rs 404.0895 crores as octroi in the financial year 2005-2006, Municipal Commissioner Pankaj Joshi informed here today.

Property tax revenue was Rs 109.5004 crore, while revenue from direct taxes stood at Rs 6.8220 crore.

The corporation's total revenue expenditure was Rs 317.1644 crore in the last financial year and total capital expenditure of Rs 78.2542 crore.

Municipal Commissioner said that the corporation expects octroi collection to reach Rs 450 crore next financial year.
