Rs 100cr each for Tapi, Marathwada Irrigation Development Corpn

Mumbai, Apr 3 (UNI) The directives given by Maharashtra Governor S M Krishna on the supplementary statement of expenditure of Rs 1041.90 crore, states that Rs 100 crore each were allotted to Tapi Irrigation Development Corporation and Marathwada Irrigation Development Corporation.

The copies giving the details of the Governor's directives were circulated to the members today. It also stated that Rs 150 crore are allotted to Maharashtra Krishna Valley Development Corporation and Rs 41.10 crore for inter state irigation projects of Tillari and Dudhganga.

Rs 149.20 crore were alloted for projects under AIBP, out of which Rs 70.12 crore will be allotted to Vidarbha Development Corporation, Rs 42.30 crore to MKVDC, Rs 10.50 crore to Konkan Irrigation Development Corporation and Rs 6.10 crore to Tapi Irrigation Development Corporation.

The directives of the Governor further stated that remaining grant of Rs 1041.90 crore shall not be released.

However, Finance Minister Jayant Patil also said Rs 285 crore were allocated to North Maharashtra while Rs 150 crore and Rs 50 crore were given to Vidarbha and Konkan respectively under contingency fund.
