Ranade elected treasurer of MCA
Pune, Apr 03 (UNI) Former Ranji trophy cricketer Madhav Ranade was unanimously elected as the treasurer of the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) at the managing committee meeting here.
Ranade, who had earlier had worked in various capacities, will replace S G allies Balasaheb Thorve, who resigned on March 28 after show-cause notice was served on him by the Association.
The managing committee, which met under chairmanship of MCA President Ajay Shirke, had accepted the resignation of Thorve on March 31.
Later speaking to UNI, Mr Shirke said that important post of treasurer had to be filled up as early as possible to carry out day-to-day working of the Association.
Ranade had held the post treasurer 1987 during the D C Agashe regime. He was also worked on the panel of Ranji selection committee as well.
