Rajnath reinducts Sanjay Joshi as General Secretary

New Delhi, Apr 3 (UNI) Overriding the opposition to the reinduction of Sanjay Joshi within the party, BJP President Rajnath Singh today appointed him as General Secretary incharge of the party organisation.

Mr Joshi's reappoinment as RSS Pracharak comes in the wake of forensic sciences laboratory giving him a clean chit after examining the CD's portraying him in poor light and the RSS mounting pressure on the BJP to restore his position. He had opted to quit after the CD's surfaced at the BJP's Silver Jubilee Plenary at Mumbai.

Though Mr Singh had named his entire team of office bearers, he had kept the General Secretary's post vacant because the RSS had refused to give any substitution to Mr Joshi. Mr Joshi's position as Pracharak was restored by RSS paving way for his appointment.

Within the BJP there was stiff resistance from supporters Leader of the Opposition L K Advani to Mr Joshi's reinduction and some even doubted the proposed nationwide simultaneous yatra to be undertaken by Mr Advani and Mr Rajnath Singh will take off on April six.

The indications of Mr Joshi's reinduction came on Saturday itself when Mr Singh said he would announce his decision on Mr Joshi's as and when it was taken.
