Rajnath appoints Sanjay Joshi back as BJP General Secretary

New Delhi, Apr 3 (UNI) BJP president Rajnath Singh today re-inducted Mr Sanjay Joshi as BJP General Secretary with immediate effect.

Mr Joshi had quit his post following the surfacing of CDs portraying him in poor light during the party plenary in Mumbai.

Mr Joshi was cleared of any wrong-doing by the forensic laboratory and the RSS had restored his position as its ''pracharak'' yesterday.

The BJP president's decision comes in the wake of stiff opposition from the L K Advani camp, sources said.

The appointment was to avoid any embarrassment during the simultaneous Yartras to be undertaken by Mr Advani and Mr Rajnath Singh from Dwarka and Puri respectively from April six, they added.
