Railway wrestlers claim senior nationals trophy
Jind , Apr 3 (UNI) Railway Sports Promotion Board claimed the overall trophy in the 52nd Senior National Wrestling Championship at Chaudhary Bharat Singh Memorial Sports School which concluded at Nidani in the district today.
The Railways grapplers emerged winners in freestyle as well as Greco-Roman categories.
Uttar Pradesh and Services Sports Control Board finished runners-up and third, respectively, in freestyle competitions. Hosts Haryana and Services Sports Control Board were second and third, respectively, in Greco-Roman competitions.
Tarlochan Singh, Member Parliament, was the chief guest and distributed the prizes. He also announced a grant of Rs 20 lakh from his MPLAD funds to the Ch Bharat Singh Memorial Educational Society for construction of Bhai Surender Singh Malik Memorial swimming pool.
Results:Freestyle: 60 kg: 1 Yogeshwar Dutt (MTNL), 2 Mukesh (SSCB), 3 Anil(RSPB).
74 kg: 1 Ramesh Kumar (RSPB), 2 Jai Bhagwan (CBSM, Nidani), 3 Dheeraj (MTNL).
96 kg: 1 Rakesh Patel (MP), 2 Narender (NCR), 3 Surender (CBSM, Nidani).
Greco-Roman: 60 kg: 1 Sanjay (RSPB), 2 Rajbir Singh (Haryana), 3 Rajbir Singh.
74 kg: 1 Ravinder (RSPB), 2 Sukhbir Singh (DSAWA), 3 Rajender Singh (Haryana).
96 kg: 1 Satish (CBSM, Nidani), 2 Amol (RSPB), 3 Amit (WAD).
