Patel to take on Chouhan in Budhni

Bhopal, Apr 3 (UNI) Congress nominee Rajkumar Patel will take on Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and BJP candidate Shivraj Singh Chouhan in the Assembly by-election in Sehore's Budhni constituency, where polling is scheduled on April 24.

Mr Patel's candidature was finalised during party's state incharge general secretary V Narayan Sami and MPCC president Subhash Yadav's meeting with party chief Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi today, according to MPCC spokesman Manak Agrawal.

During the last Assembly poll, Mr Patel lost to BJP's Rajendra Singh, who resigned the Budhni seat to facilitate Mr Chouhan's election to the Assembly.

Mr Chouhan is likely to file his nomination papers tomorrow. The last date for filing nomination is April 7.

Gondwana Gantantra Party has also decided to field its state President Gulzar Singh Markam as its candidate.
