Opposition stages walkout over ''ashramshala'' teachers issue
Mumbai, Apr 3 (UNI) The entire Opposition today staged a walkout in the Maharashtra Legislative Council, over a demand for regularising the services of teachers in ''ashramshalas''.
The Opposition demanded that the services of the teachers, who have been working in the ''ashramshalas'' for the past seven years, should be regularised.
The issue was raised by Ramnath Mote (BJP) and others during the Question Hour.
Tribal Development Minister Vijaykumar Gavit tried to pacify the angry Opposition saying that interviews of the teachers have been called and the appointments would be soon made.
However, the Opposition staged a walk out following the failure of the Minister to give a specific assurance.
