Geological Survey of India mapping availabilit of Minarals
New Delhi, Apr 3: Geological Survey of India (GSI), a subordinate organisation of the Ministry of Mines, has carried out 229.85 sq. kms of large scale mapping (on 1:25,000-1:10,000 scale), 4.325 sq. km of detailed mapping (on scale larger than 1:10,000) and 7014.40 m of drilling against the monthly targets of 197.285 sq. kms, 6.358 sq. kms and 6702.828 m, respectively during the month of January, 2006.
During the month, it carried out 40 sq. kms of systematic geological mapping (on 1:50,000 scale) against the target of 102 sq. kms and 2190 sq. kms specialised thematic mapping against the target of 2549.15 sq. kms, under regional geological mapping investigations, according to an official release here today.
