Maruti Udyog records highest sales for FY'05-06

Mumbai, Apr 3 (UNI) Maruti Udyog (MUL) has further consolidated its position as the number one car company in the domestic market with a record sale of 5,61,822 vehicles in the last financial year.

This also includes the total exports figure of 34,784 units for the last fiscal, a release issued here today said.

The total sale for the domestic market stood at 5,22,664 vehicles, which is supposed to be the highest figure for the company since its inception.

Further, the last month saw the company selling 61,141 vehicles in the domestic market, the highest in a month so far. The exports tally stood at 2,055 units.

The company also registered the highest monthly sales of Alto (17,908 units), of WagonR (10,843 units) and of Swift (6,651 units) for the last month.

In addition to its performance, another feather in MUL's cap is its rating as one of the top three corporates, in the Corporate Image Monitor (CIM) study, 2005 conducted by ACNielsen ORG-MARG.
