Khadi Village Industry to give loans to 1,500 youths in Punjab
Chandigarh, Apr 3 (UNI) The Centre's Khadi Village Industry will advance Rs 50 crore loan for rural unemployed youths in Punjab for 1,500 different projects, so that they could start project of their choice.
Giving this information here today, Khadi Village Industry Commission director Karnail Singh Dhaliwal said employment was given to 20,000 rural unemployed youths in 2005-06 under this scheme in the country. He said any rural unemployed having knowledge of handicraft should contact the concerned department.
He said the Khadi Village Industry has set up a target to give employment to 25,000 unemployed youths in Punjab during the year 2006-07.
