BJP leader Manohar Joshi criticises IIM fee hike
Indore, Apr 3: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Union Minister Murali Manohar Joshi has criticised the hike in tuition fee effected in Indian Institute of Management saying it would increase commercialisation of education.
''The fee hike will adversely affect the poor students. The youth will be influenced by loan-culture'', he told reporters here last night.
Mr Joshi suggested IIMs should change its vision and diversity towards management of rural development, energy and water instead of concentrating on business management.
A controversy arose after reduction in tuition fee in IIMs when Mr Joshi was HRD Minister during NDA rule.
