Lahore, Apr 3 (UNI) Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq has called upon the cricket authorities to discard two match-Test series and suggested that future series should have a minimum of three matches.

''It's very difficult to get your players motivated and focused when you are playing a two-Test series. It's always difficult to get a result in such circumstances as the players can't really focus properly,'' Inzamam was qouted as saying by The News from Kandy on the eve of the second and final Test against Sri Lanka.

Inzamam said in a three-match series both sides had a chance to stage a comeback something that was not possible in a two-Test rubber.

The opening Test between Pakistan and Sri Lanka ended in a draw in Colombo and both teams have just the second Test to force a result.

''I would suggest to the authorities that in future they should schedule three-Test series in the Future Tour Programme (FTP),'' he added.

The Pakistan and Sri Lankan boards decided to add the two Tests to the current tour after the cancellation of the Asia Cup that was to be held in Pakistan in February. Originally, Pakistan were only to play a One-day International series in Sri Lanka and then return later in the year for a three-match Test series.

But, after the Asia Cup was called off, both boards decided to make the most of the situation although the Sri Lankans wanted a period of rest for their players who go to England later this month.
