Haryana to upgrade Hisar airfield

Chandigarh, Apr 3 (UNI) the Haryana Government has decided to develop the existing airfield at Hisar in a time bound manner so as to make it suitable for handling bigger aircrafts.

Informing this today, a spokesman of the state Civil Aviation Department said that some more facilities would be added at the airfield. The length of the runway would be extended by 2000 feet and it would be upgraded for bigger aircrafts.

Night landing facilities would be provided and navigation aids would also be upgraded. Another apron would be set up south of the existing runway for parking.

He said that apart from constructing an additional hanger and other associated infra-structure, more class rooms would be added for the flying training academy.He said that the department has, therefore, invited expression of interest from established firms for the purpose.
