French Open offers equal prize money

PARIS, Apr 3 (Reuters) The men's and women's French Open champions will each receive 940,000 euros (1.13 million dollars) this year, organisers said today.

It is the first time in the history of the Paris event that the men's and women's champions will pocket exactly the same amount.

The total prize money for the May 28-June 11 tournament is approximately 14.3 million euros, up 5.56 per cent from last year.
