Four persons booked for setting girl on fire

Akola, Apr 3 (UNI) Four persons have been booked for attempting to murder a young girl by setting her ablaze in Najuk locality.

Three women--Sayrabi S Ismail, Tayabi S Hanif, Akilabi Kau-- and a man named Mehboob have been booked u/s 307 of IPC for setting an 18-year-old Shanaz Parvin Abdulla on fire.

The incident occured after a heated argument ensued between the accused and the victim, who was going to answer nature's call. One of the accused held the victim's hand, while the remaining persons poured kerosene over her and lighted a match. The incident occured in broad day light.

The victim was admitted with 50 per cent burns to a general hospital where she revaealed the names of the accused to the police. The accused are yet to be arrested, police said.
