EC removes Kolkata DEO

Kolkata, Apr 3 (UNI) Pushing ahead with tough measures in West Bengal, the Election Commission has removed the District Election Officer (DEO) of Kolkata North-East from his post before the coming Assembly elections.

Sources in the election office today said the DEO, Mr Kalisadhan Bandopadhyay, had been ''removed for dereliction of duty'' to be replaced by Director of Youth Services Subir Bhadra.

Mr Bandopadhyay would assume new office in place of Mr Bhadra, the sources added.
