DU graduate arrested in cricket betting racket
New Delhi, Apr 3 (UNI) Police today claimed to have busted a cricket betting racket with the arrest of a Delhi University graduate from Rajinder Nagar area of Central Delhi.
Dinesh Kumar Jaidka, a 33-year-old Khalsa College graduate, was arrested on a tip-off on March 31 during the second one-day cricket international between India and England in Faridabad, according to the police.
A television, Rs 3,200 in cash, two mobile phones, a notebook with details of 'transactions', a calculator and a cassette recorder were seized from the first floor premises from where he operated in Rajinder Nagar.
Investigations revealed that the accused interacted only with known people and changed his location often to avoid detection.
