Deepak Mallik arrested in Sanjana Srivasatav case; brought to Mumbai
Mumbai, Apr 3 (UNI) Deepak Mallik, who had allegedly shot model-turned-actress Sanjana Srivastav at Joggers' Park in suburban Andheri on March 11, has been arrested at Meerut in Uttar Pradesh.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Amitabh Gupta today said that Deepak, who had fled to Uttar Pradesh after he shot at at his girl friend was brought to Mumbai on transit remand late last night.
Mallick was apprehended on the basis of a statement, she gave to police. Sanjana had told the police after she regained consciousness that it was Mallik who had shot at her over financial matter.
She said Mallik owed her Rs 40,000 that she had lent him.
When she enquired about the money, there was a heated argument following which Mallik fired at her.
He then fled with his friends Rachit Kapoor and Neeraj Saroj.
However, on March 17, the police managed to arrest Kapoor and Saroj. During interrogation, Kapoor confirmed that he had seen Mallik shoot at Sanjana.
