Kochi, Apr 3 (UNI) The fourth one-day international between India and England, to be played here on April six, has been covered by New India Assurance Co Ltd for Rs 6.5 crore.

Speaking on the occasion, New India Assurance rpt Assurance Kerala Chief Regional Manager R Parthasarthy said the policy covered the ODI against various risks such as fire, earthquakes and terrorism for Rs 4.5 crore.

There is also a public liability insurance for Rs one crore, with per person limit of Rs one lakh and a special contingency insurance for Rs one crore to cover the entire match in case of cancellation without a single ball being bowled due to the insured risks.

Documents on the insurance cover were handed over to Kochi Mayor Mercy Williams by Mr Parthasarthy at a function here.

Prof Williams, in turn, handed over the insurance certificate to Mr Antony Issac, Chairman of the Greater Cochin Development Authority (GCDA), which owns the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium, the venue for the ODI.

Giving details on the security arrangements, DIG Padmakumar said 2,400 police personnel, including ''special commandos,'' will be deployed inside the ground to prevent fans from running into the ground.

He said video cameras, glass bottles, tiffin boxes and cigarettes will not be permitted inside the venue. A 24-hour police control room will be operational at the venue besides first aid medical teams.

The two teams will arrive here tomorrow morning from Goa.
