Congress leader A B A Ghanikhan Chowdhury hospitalised

Malda, Apr 3 (UNI) Veteran Congress leader A B A Ghanikhan Chowdhury was hospitalised early today after the octogenarian leader complained of acute pain in lower abdomen.

The former Railway Minister and present Lok Sabha MP was rushed to a nursing home here at about 0200 hours.

He has been kept under observation, the doctors attending on him said.

A seven-member medical board, led by noted practitioner Dr Pradip Chakraborty, has been formed to look into his condition.

Zilla Congress secretary Biswanath Guha said the party has arranged for special helicopter to bring Mr Chowdhury to Kolkata for treatment in case of any emergency.
