Cash Rs 50 lakh, 200 gelatin sticks seized in AP

Mahbubnagar, Apr 3 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh police today seized Rs 50 lakh and 200 gelatin sticks, meant to be handed over to CPI (Maoist), from two persons near Nallamala forest in Kollapur mandal in the district.

On a tip-off regarding naxal movement, the special police party patrolled near Maredumaanudinne village where two persons opened fire on them and fled from the scene.

Another two surrendered from whom police recovered cash of Rs 50 lakh and 200 gelatin sticks meant to be handed over to Maoists.

Inquiries by police revealed they were employed with a construction firm involved in work for Kalwakurthy Lift Irrigation Project in the district.
