BJP leaders meet Advani on sealing related issues

New Delhi, Apr 3: A delegation of Delhi BJP leaders, led by the Leader of the Opposition in the MCD Subhash Arya, today met former party president L K Advani to discuss with him various issues related to the sealing of commercial units in residential areas of the Capital as per the order of the Supreme Court.

During the meeting, the BJP leaders urged Mr Advani to help clear the confusion arising out of the sealing of shops by the MCD, an operation which has led to several protests by traders in Delhi.

According to BJP leader Vijender Gupta, who was a part of the delegation, Mr Advani assured them that he would meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to urge him to ensure that the Government urgently issued an Ordinance to allow mixed land use in residential areas of Delhi so as to bring some relief to the traders and their employees.

''Mr Advani was also critical of the March 28 notification issued by the Urban Development Ministry saying that it had no meaning whatsoever after the Supreme Court had issued an order in the matter,'' Mr Gupta told UNI.
