BJP foresees mid-election before December
New Delhi, Apr 3 (UNI) BJP President Rajnath Singh today said a mid-term election before December in the country was inevitable.
In an interview with UNI, he said the UPA was crippled with internal bickering and frictions among its partners and therefore, could not last long. "I foresee a definite mid-term election by December this year," he said.
The BJP President said the bickering among the UPA partners had become loud and clear when the Manmohan Singh government failed to bring an ordinance to redefine an Office of Profit, even after adjourning the monsoon session of Parliament sine die before schedule.
He also ridiculed the resignation of Sonia Gandhi from the chairmanship of the National Advisory Council saying "it was like a thief caught red handed, confessing his crime". Mr Singh said the BJP would put its candidates against Sonia Gandhi from Rae Bareli Lok Sabha byelections scheduled to be held on May 8.
He however added the BJP woukld also keep its options open if there was a proposal by other opposition parties to field a common candidate against Ms Gandhi.
