Bengal-Bihar-Jharkhand talks in Delhi tomorrow

Kolkata, Apr 03 (UNI) Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand will hold an official level meeting in Delhi tomorrow to discuss inter-state measures to seal the border with West Bengal during the Assembly election from April 17 to May eight.

The meeting will be attended by the Chief Secretaries and the Home Secretaries of the three states and the West Bengal Chief Electoral Officer (CEO).

'' We will talk about the likely measures against inflow of arms and infiltration of anti-social elements in West Bengal from across its borders with Bihar and Jharkhand,'' CEO Debasish Sen said.

West Bengal would seek cooperation from its two neighbours in enforcing the similar measures in the respective border areas that the state had initiated during the Bihar Assembly polls, he said.

The talks are primarily to revolve around the measures to search cars and interrogate and frisk people crossing over to the Bengal border from Bihar and Jharkhand, Mr Sen said.
