Bahrain tragedy: Indian's body identified

Dubai, Apr 3 (UNI) The body of an Indian, recovered during search operations of the cruiser tragedy of Thursday, has been identified as that of Gabriel Fernandes.

According to officials, 58 people, all foreigners were killed when the twin-decked boat carrying 126 people flipped over its side.

Twenty-one Indians were killed in the tragedy.

Gabriel, a Goan, had taken up a new assignment as time keeper just three months ago after serving in the country for 12 years.

He leaves behind his wife and two sons, both in their early twenties.

The Indian captain of the ship, who is not named, is in custody for questioning, and officials said he was not licensed to pilot the craft.
