Azad to file nomination on April 5

Jammu Apr 3 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad will file his nomination from Bhaderwah constituency of Doda district of the state on Wednesday.

Sources close to Mr Azad told UNI the Chief Minister address a public rally in Bhaderwah after filling his nomination.

The Chief Minister has already addressed around eight public meetings in his contituency before the notification to the elections was issued on March 31 last.

It may be mentioned that by-election to Raffiabad, Pattan and Sangrama constituencies of Baramullah and Bhaderwah of Doda district slated for April 24 for which the filing of nominations process has started from April one.

During Mr Azad's absence, Mr Mohammed Sharif Niaz, ex-power minister, will lead campaign alongwith the other party leaders in the contituency, sources said.

Mr Niaz had resigned and vacated the Bhaderwah seat for the Chief Minister. Mr Azad after taking over as Chief Minister in November last is still a Rajya Sabha member and as per constitutional provisions, he should become an MLA within six months of his new assignment.
