ASI trapped in bribery case
Hyderabad, Apr 3 (UNI) The sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today trapped Kotipally Veera Venkata Satyanarayana Murthy, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Police, Makavarapupalem Police Station of Narasipatnam Sub Division of Visakhapatnam District while taking bribe.
He demanded and accepted bribe of Rs 1,000 in his police station, from the complainant, Mr Tamarana Yerram Naidu of Makavarapupalam Mandal, as illegal gratification for filing evidence to strengthen the case in which the complainant was a victim, in the court concerned, an ACB press release said here today.
Mr Murthy was arrested. He will be produced before the III Additional District and Session Judge-cum-Special Judge for ACB Cases, Visakhapatnam.
In another case, Gulam Rasool Khan General Purpose employee of Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board was dismissed from service by the government on March 25,2006 consequent to his conviction in a corruption case by a court, it added.
