AP irrigation project gets site clearance
New Delhi, Apr 3 (UNI) The Rs 4700 Crore Galeru Nagari Sujala Sravanthi Irrigation Project in Andhra Pradesh today got the site clearance by the Ministry of Forest and Environment.
Announcing this here, AP Government's special representative Dr Mullu Ravi said the state Irrigation Department will be submitting the detailed project report to the Ministry for final clearance.
He said the project will provide irrigation facility to 3.5 lakh acres in Kadapa, Chittoor and Nellore districts in two phases.
The project seeks to draw 38 TMC of surplus floodwaters from Krishna river, he said.
