3 injured in police lathicharge

Written by: Staff

Rajkot, Apr 3 (UNI) Three persons were injured when police resorted to a 'lathi-charge' to disperse a mob which was obstructing Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) officials from demolishing an illegally-constructed extension to a temple.

The three have been admitted to the civil hospital here, police said.

Trouble started when the RMC squad, led by Mr J V Verma, reached Milpara this morning to carry out the demolition. Local residents gathered near the site and began pelting stones forcing the police to resort to the lathi-charge.
