Union Revenue Secretary Sudha Pillai launches paintings exhibition
New Delhi, Apr 2 (UNI) Union Revenue secretary Sudha Pillai inaugurated an exhibition of paintings by noted artist Amita Abbi Prashant in the capital last evening.
Speaking after inaugurating the exhibition titled 'The Magnificent One' at the India Habitat centre, Ms Pillai said that in Amita's work the self is synonymous with the other and she articulates a consciousness of the centre being a construct of the information disseminated beyond the periphery.
Ms Pillai said the affecting nudes are just not about the erotica; it is rather a wakeful dialogue that speaks about the existential parameters that is stringently crossed over, in a disquieting search.
'The Magnificent One' showcases a volume of 27 paintings by the painter, on show at the Open Palm court, India Habitat Centre till April 7. These paintings were concieved and developed by the artist over a period of one year.
