Three die in Sponge iron plan structure collapses

Rourkela, Apr 02 (UNI) Three workers were killed and as many as ten injured, some of them critically, when a roof of a Sponge Iron plant collapsed at Tumkela, about 60 km from here.

Police said the mishap took place at the Vikram Sponge Iron Plant when hundreds of workers were inside the premises.

A roof structure of the building collapsed, killing two workers on the spot, while another succumbed to his injury at the hospital.

The injured workers were admitted at various hospitals.

Senior police and civil officials had rushed to the spot.

BJP state president Juel Oram has also rushed to the site for an on the spot investigation.
