Revival of Mysore: Meeting on Apr 6

Mysore, Apr 2 (UNI) The Steering Committee, entrusted with the task of reviving the glory of Mysore under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission, will meet in Bangalore on April six under the chairmanship of Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, Mysore Deputy Commissioner S Selvakumar informed today.

Presenting the project report at a meeting of elected representatives here, he said the project, based on a vision extending over 25 years, was to be funded by the Centre up to 80 per cent, the State Government ten per cent and the remaining by the local bodies. Several meetings have been held for preparing the project report and short-term, mid-term and long-term versions of the project have been conceived. An estimate of Rs 1,766 crore had been made for the project, which was to be completely implemented by 2012. The Centre would release 25 per cent of its share of Rs 1,348 crore after clearing the comprehensive development project (CDP) and signing MoU with the State Government, he explained.

Based on the elected representatives' feedback, the project report would be finalised in the next two or three days and presented during the Steering Committee meeting, he added.
