Chennai, Apr 2 (UNI) After his earlier film ''Muthu'' , laced with action and humour, regaled the audience in Japan, Tamil super star Rajnikanth's 'Chandramukhi', now hopes to capture the hearts of filmbuffs in Germany and Turkey.
In what is to be another honour for the Tamil film industry Rajni's latest megahit 'Chandramukhi', based on a Malayalam film, has been bought by an overseas distributor A P International to be dubbed into Turkish and German and released in June. The German and Turkish versions will be facilitated by a Cologne based firm Red Eye.
According to the distributor Sanjay Wadhwa, the theme of 'Chandramukhi' is likely to impress filmgoers there because its theme of schizophrenia is familiar to European audience.
Some of Kollywood's big hits with sensitive themes have, recently, been appreciated by film critics and audiences abroad, for instance, ace director Maniratnam's 'Kannathil Muthamittal' touching on the ethnic Tamil issue in Lanka and last moth's screening in the award section of another talented Director Amir's 'Ram' in a big film festival in Cyprus.
