Preparations for Asom assembly elections

New Delhi, Apr 2 (UNI) Following are highlights of Asom assembly elections being held in two phases on April 3 and 10: ----------------------------------------------------------------- . The important state festival Bihu beginning April 13 and the schedule for one-day international cricket match between India and England on April 9 in Guwahati have been taken into account while finalising the poll schedule.

------------------------------------------------------------------- . Chief Election Commissioner B B Tandon has made an appeal to the voters of Asom to exercise their constitutional right to vote without any fear.
