Police register case against MLA Satej Patil

Kolhapur, Apr 2 (UNI) A police case has been registered against MLA Satej Patil and his personal assistant Bhikaji Mane for ''preventing police from discharging their duties and for violation of election code during the Kolhapur District Central Co-operative (KDCC) Bank elections here today''.

City deputy superintendent of police Sudhakar Pathare told reporters late this evening that cases have been registered against Mr Patil and Mr Mane.

Mr Pathare said that the police had picked up Mr Mane when he squabbled with a policeman on election duty. When Mr Patil learnt about this, he had tried to forecefully free Mane from police detention and had also bickered with Mr Pathare.
