Orissa BJP demands ban on Naxal outfit
Bhubaneswar, Apr 02 (UNI) Orissa BJP president Juel Oram today reiterated his party's demand to impose ban the Naxal outfits and their activities in the state.
Mr Oram told newsmen here that the BJP had been all along demanding to put a ban on the Left wing ultras in the state following their violent actions of killing and attacking police stations and government organisations.
The BJP president said, '' We consider the naxalites engaged in killing the innocent people and police as terrorists and they should be dealt with firm hand instead of going for any negotiation. '' Mr Oram said he had a detailed discussion with Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik recently but refused the divulge the details except stating that the BJP had conveyed its stand on the naxal issue in the state.
The former Union Minister said he wounded why the state government was not acting strongly against the naxalite movements, adding perhaps the Naveen Patnaik government had their own strategy to deal with the naxalites which they did not want to make public.
