Nadar not to contest from Kovalam: Veerendrakumar
Thiruvananthapuram, Apr 2 (UNI) Reversing its earlier decision, the Janata Dal(S) in Kerala today decided not to field Mr A Neelalohithadasan Nadar to contest from Kovalam in the coming Assembly elections in the state.
Talking to mediapersons here, party state president M P Veerendrakumar said the decision was taken following a request from the Left Democratic Front (LDF), in which it is a partner, not to field controverial persons in the elections.
He said the party hoped that Mr Nadar would withdraw his candidature. However, he clarified that those who do not abide by the party's decision would not be in the party.
The candidate for the Kovalam seat would be announced by the district committee soon, he added.
