Leaders express solidarity with Palestine, Iran, Iraq

Hyderabad, Apr 2 (UNI) Leaders of various parties today expressed solidarity with Palestine, Iran and Iraq and vowed to oppose 'policing' by the US and others.

Participating in a meeting organised by Indo Arab League Hyderabad (India) to commemorate the ''Anti Apartheid Wall Campaign Day'' here, Consulate General of Iran Hossein Ravesh said the only solution to the Palestine problem was to restore the state to those whom it belonged.

The victory of Hamas in the elections had given a loud and clear message. But western powers who claimed to support democracy did not see any merit in respecting the verdict.

On Iran nuclear issue, Mr Ravesh said there was widespread opposition on this though the country intended to use nuclear energy for producing electricity Referring to US attack on Iraq, Mr Ravesh said on the pretext of fighting terrorism, thousands of innocent people were killed.

In the last three years, the people of Iraq could elect their own representatives to the government due to increasing awareness on democratic institutions.

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Leader T Devender Goud said his party had opposed the US stand on Iran issue right from the beginning.

CPI leader and Rajya Sabha Member Azeez Pasha said the US' relationships with nations were always based on strategic view point.

Indo Arab League Hyderabad (India) Chairman Syed Vicaruddin came down heavily on the US and Israel for their policies on Palestine, Iran and Iraq.
